Justice in Action – The Joy of the Gospel

Submitted by on 11 July, 2016 – 1:11 pmNo Comment

Bookings are being taken for our National Assembly on Friday 2 – Sunday 4 September 2016 at Leeds Trinity University.  The weekend is for deacons, wives, those in formation, formation teams and everyone interested in diaconal ministry.  It’s a wonderful opportunity to hear our major key-note speakers:

  • the diaconal Ministry of Mercy with Bishop David McGough;
  • Justice in Scripture with Nick King, SJ, one of our leading scripture scholars;
  • Human Trafficking – the Call to Action with Prof Margaret Archer, the President of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

We have a great range of practical workshops to inspire and extend our ministry of charity; guidance from John Battle, former MP, on putting Catholic Social Teaching into action; and a chance to respond with a new vision for diaconal ministry.

All this together with prayerful liturgies and good fellowship.  Don’t miss out on this vital chance to grow with deacons from across England and Wales and beyond: such an opportunity is provided only once every few years.  Our previous Assembly at St Mary’s University, Twickenham was in 2011.
