In February 2014, the Board of Trustees of the Pontifical College Josephinum approved the acquisition of the New Diaconal Review. The Review will be published by the Josephinum Diaconate Institute. Deacon James Keating, Director of the Diaconate for the Archdiocese of Omaha, NE and Director of Theological Formation at the Institute for Priestly Formation on the campus of Creighton University in Omaha, will serve as Editor. Deacon Justin Green, formerly Director of the Diaconate for the Diocese of Winona, MN and currently Director of Planning and Development for the Institute will serve as Managing Editor. The Most Rev. Frederick Campbell, Bishop of Columbus, OH, chairs an Editorial Advisory Board of a dozen deacons and priests. Deacon Tony Schmitz has agreed to serve as European editor. The name of the journal will be changed to the Josephinum Diaconal Review.
The subscription rate for new subscriptions and renewals in the United States will be $22. The publication schedule will be changed to Fall and Spring, with the first issue planned for the fall of 2014. The current mission of the Review will be honored, and the length of each issue will be approximately the same as in the past. All current subscriptions to the Review will be honored. Because of the cost of mailing copies across the ocean, the staff is looking for alternative ways to fulfill the obligation to subscribers who already have paid for the Review.
The Josephinum Diaconal Review is happy to consider articles by European authors. Manuscripts for review should be sent to Jameskeating@creighton.edu . When arrangements have been completed for fulfilling subscriptions for an address outside of the United States, all subscribers will receive an email or a letter with details.
