Introductory address: Fr Ian Ker,
the distinguished Newman scholar.

This year’s CTS Lecture will be given by Deacon Jack Sullivan who, as a result of praying to John Henry Newman, was cured of a seriously debilitating illness. After intense investigation, the cure was approved as miraculous by the Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints on 2 June 2009, thus clearing the way for the beatification of Newman – now expected to take place in 2010.
Deacon Sullivan will tell his illuminating story and take questions from the audience.
Fr Ian Ker will give an introductory address on the significance of Newman’s coming beatification.
CTS is delighted that this Lecture will provide a unique opportunity to reflect on the importance of Newman for the Church today.
