Southwark Ministries 2009
The 2nd of May saw Southwark ordained deacons, students in formation and men in their propaedeutic year, and their wives come together for a day of ongoing formation in the south west London suburb of New Malden in the parish of St Joseph.
Joining them was the Southwark formation team and Bishop Paul Hendricks who was the speaker for the day. The ongoing formation talks this year have been concentrating on the sacraments and Bishop Paul spoke about the Eucharist.
After lunch, Bishop Paul celebrated Mass at which ministries were conferred and one man accepted for candidacy. The assembled deacons also made their annual renewal of diaconal service.
