Prayers for Gaza

Sunday 25th January 2009

Dear friends

I am sure that we have all been appalled by the recent events in Gaza and, no matter what the rights and wrongs have been, one thing is certain that people have been killed and many, many more injured and are now living in the most desperate conditions. The medical situation does not bear thinking about but we can pray for the volunteer staff. A friend of mine, who is a surgeon, hopes to enter Gaza today and I promised to ask for as many prayers as possible. Please join me in prayer for all people suffering and all helpers in Gaza.

All-powerful and ever living God,

Direct your love that is within us,

That our efforts in the name of your Son

May bring mankind to unity and peace

Prayer for Third Sunday of Year B
